Two Covenants

Once received the magazine published by the Worldwide Church of God Worldwide Church of God in England. The leader Herbert Armstrong died in 1986. gathered approx. 120 thousand people who kept all the feasts of Israel. After his death, leadership of the church took Joseph Tkach, announced in 1995 that the law of Moses no longer in force, and you do not have to follow any Sabbaths, there was a schism, some believers formed a new church. Staying with the old rules and further keep Israeli holidays.

Many churches astray because they do not understand the basic doctrine of the two covenants. They practice and encourage saving at the same time both covenants of the Old / Sinai / or new / Christ /. The fact that the two are mutually exclusive tell us the letters of Paul. In the first case, salvation was made possible by completing all laws that no one was able to fill. Secondly, based on faith, grace and the merits of Christ. Are we allowed to keep both the covenant? In his letter to the Galatians 4 we have a description of the life of Abraham who had two wives and two sons. One of the slave Hagar, and the second from a free Sara. Both ladies are a symbol of the Old and New Covenants

Gal.4,24
These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.

Slave girl Hagar and her son Ishmael is a symbol of the Old Covenant and Sarah and her son Isaac is a symbol of the New Covenant. so says the above text. And what is happening now. The Old Covenant has to be removed, expelled the Old Covenant, it can not inherit the New.

Gal.30-31
But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son.(31): Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

So now we are not children of the Old and New Testaments, but only children free. Only the children of the New Covenant. The text also says that the old covenant or law of Moses will haunt the New Covenant

Gal.4,28-29
(28): Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. (29): At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.

Persecution in the days of Abraham. Isaac was humiliated, mocked him, the pressure to younger did so as a senior dictates Law of Moses attack grace, every legalist attack life according to the Spirit will be pressured to obey the law,it will be ridiculed grace
Gal.4,30
" Get rid of the slave and her son because the son shall not be heir with the son of a slave-free" Cast out the old covenant because it will not inherit old with new”

Questions followers of the two Covenants

Question 1
Christ walked to the synagogue on the Sabbath, kept the Passover, he had to behave tithing. Christ has given us a pattern of conduct that we should not do like him?

Answer

Christ commanded offer the sacrifice, and are you offer the animal sacrifice

Łuk. 5:14
Then Jesus ordered him, "Don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."

Christ was born during the Old Covenant. At the Last Supper he establishes the new covenant in his blood. On the day before he died. Throughout its activities neither Jesus nor the Father they had not appealed the Old Covenant. Jesus as a human being complied with all the provisions of the law of Moses. If he did not do it He would have been a rebel, committed to sin, or rebellion against what God has instituted, and not canceled. Jesus said:

Mat. 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

And filled all the provisions to the end of his life, the next verse says that no jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law until it has been completed. Warsaw-Prague Bible translation says:

bwp- "Truly I tell you. Till heaven and earth pass away, nor will it be abandoned or one "and" what is more, even not a single dot on the "and"" will not change until filled the whole law. "

The Law of Moses fulfilled Jesus on the cross and then the apostle wrote:

Kol 2:14.16
(14): having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
(16): Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

In other words, the law of Moses was nailed to the cross and let no one accuse for not obey holidays, new moon or Sabbaths Israel.

The second example of the apostle

Romans 7 gives a comparison of the law of Moses and the life of the spirit. Woman as wife and husband as God. As long as we both live are bound by the law of the covenant, says the text, but the death of one of the parties ends marriage covenant. In the event died husband, the legislator on the cross. Ending the marriage covenant. He says and you also have died with Christ to the law of Moses and live anew the resurrection of the Lord in a new spirit and not according to the letter of the Old Covenant

Rz 7:2.4.6
(2): For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. (4): So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. (6): But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Question 2
If all the Mosaic law does not apply Have we got allows to allows to steal and kill?

Law of the Old Covenant no longer exists, it has changed in a spiritual form. The end of the law on the cross is the end of salvation through the law. End of law as a guide. Now leads us the Spirit who gives us the opportunity to live in holiness. The law itself reflects the character of God. Presents His holiness, so it may cease to exist. What does spiritual law? It was the priesthood of the Levites. In the New Testament priesthood of all believers. The priesthood does not cease to exist, it changed form. In the Old Testament sacrifices of animals. In New Testament_ we have spiritual sacrifices. By faith we offer the blood of Jesus on Golgotha. before the Father for our sins. The sacriefices are also our thanksgiving.

Hebr. 13:15
(15): Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Rest were on holidays but they pointed to fulfillment in Christ. Holidays were a shadow pointing to rest in Christ. Hebr.4 says that it was a rest on the Sabbath. In the New Testament we have the rest to which we are entering, it is spiritual rest.

Hebr.4,10:
for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.

This text talks about resting in Christ and not in a week, you can celebrate the Sabbath, all the holidays of Israel, but as you will not have rest in Christ all this will be an empty law.

How, then, is the case Commandments?

It must how the entire law change of legalism in the state of spiritual freedom. Love of neighbor is closing legalism and the opening of the heart for others, love removes coercion, restores fulfillment of the law without having to remember about its existence.

Rzym. 13:9-10
(9): The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
(10): Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Life according to the Spirit is the fulfillment of law without remembering its existence. For example. At the station is shown "no smoking" and I'm a non-smoker. Such prohibition does not apply to me because he realizes it in my life his , naturally, without coercion, but when I reach for the cigarette the law have for me apply. That is why Paul wrote that the law is for those who break them.

1 Tym. 1:9
We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers”

If You do not break the 10 commandments you do not have to wonder about their existence. The sanctity of life, without sinfulness is the fulfillment of the rights of the 10 commandments. My friend came to me. I said to him, "I forgot about 10 Commandments" and what did you broken commandments? he asked? . "I do not but I only forgot that there are" I replied. He added, "So do not worry about it how you break any of the commandments it you remember"

Symbol of life according to the spirit and life according to the law can be presented in the following example:

Father and son lived together. The two went to church. Father / symbol of the New Covenant / sang songs of joy. He was pleased when he could give gifts. He was happy to participate in the meetings. Son / symbol of the Old Covenant / went to the same church but only because he lived in the house of his Father. He had no desire to sing the songs but he did it because he had to. Instead of Church meetings he would prefer to go with colleagues for a beer. For a year, the two did not break even one commandment. Both filled the whole law. the difference is that the father lived by the spirit of a son by letter of the law.

Rom 7,6
(6): But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

2 Kor. 3:5-6
(5): Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (6): He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-- not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The Law of Moses, we can perform on our own, but to live by the spirit. Can qualify us but the Spirit. Without a new birth from the Spirit, no one can be righteous, the old nature, nature Adam will dominate. The Holy Spirit gives us the desire to be holy like God, aversion to evil, free will remains, and we still have a choice between good and evil, but our desire to move in the direction of loving and pleasing God only by the Holly Spirit.

What is the difference between the legalist from person living according to the spirit?

Legalist would say, on the sabbath day I can read this book and this I can not. I have to wear this shirt and not another, to meet in the church. Bread for supper is to take the form of a wafer and no buns. from 5-7 cm

Spiritual man to devote time to prayer as a sacrifice to God, no matter what it is dressed. He seeks contact with God, not a costume. Supper for him is participation in the death of Jesus and no the size of the wafer.

What am I allowed and what is not allowed?

1 Kor. 6:12
(12): "Everything is permissible for me"-- but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"-- but I will not be mastered by anything.

Question 3
Is the 10 Commandments is not a separate law given to all people in the world?

Answer

Ask the Jews of the 10 Commandments is outside the law of Moses. or that the law of Moses was given the 10 Commandments to the Jews and all the world? they ask you where you got such a theory. In the Bible it does not? For this we whole Israelite law. In which includes all rights to the priesthood, moral, holidays, etc. This type of division have made only Christians in later centuries. The apostles did not know of such a division. This led to legalism in the church. Compliance with the rules on the pattern of Israel. Christians have come to the conclusion that if the priest's no longer in force, this we shall apply moral prescriptions only 10 commandments that adapted to their own view. the Sabbath was changed to Sunday. Introduced iconolatry and images. This stems from a lack of understanding of the letters of the Apostle Paul, for life in the spirit. Legalism always entered in place of the spirit. It is permissible for me and that I'm not allowed

For example

"In March 2002, BBC news told about the incident in Saudi Arabia. Saudi religious police prevented firefighters to rescue 15 of 800 girls trapped inside their burning school. What was the reason blocking rescue? Since the other 15 girls wore no proper Islamic dress. The religious police rescuers warned that "it would be sinful to approach them." Fifteen girls died because they did not wear head scarves and black robes required by a strict interpretation of Islamic kingdom. "Quote from the" Straight from the Heart "

Question 4
Is the life of grace does not lead to the belief that you can sin at will?

There are two extremes - Legalism and antinomism. With antynomists meets John Bunyan and Wesley. He even quoted a conversation with one of them

"Do you believe that you have nothing to do with the law of God?
"Yes, because I am not under the law, lives by faith" Are you living the faithyou have a right to everything in this world? Yes because Christ is mine, it's all mine, so can you take yourself anything, for example something from a store without the knowledge of its owner?
And I can if I want, because this is mine, this one will not hurt.
Do you have a right to all women in the world. So with their agreement. And is not that a sin? So, for those who think it is a sin, but not for those whose hearts are free "

The New Testament is against legalism and antinomism says:

Kol.3,5
(5): Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

NT says that although freedom of spirit there is no tolerance of evil, there is a need austerities

Kol. 3:8
(8): But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

This is not a suggestion to live in freedom without law. In the spirit of freedom is the freedom of the right procedure and not doing anything that what wants his body. Umbrella. it is right procedure, anyone who leaves the territory of that umbrella falls into Satan. God protects us in His own territory. By entering enemy territory you are under his control. Sinning it means that your father is the devil, because he is the father of sin. Freedom in the Spirit does not mean that the 10 commandments does not exist. The inverse of the 10 commandments means that we sin. Freedom in the Spirit it means fulfillment of the 10 commandments without legalistic forms, from the heart, the desire, without coercion.

Newborn Christian has no desire to sin. He seeks what with God. Nature Adam it means man not born from the God. He does not seek what with God.
Living by faith does not mean consent to sin. Grace does not lead to the fact that you can sin, because sin is the opposite of holiness. we have not been cleansed of the sins that we have sinned. Free will is still in us and we can choose both directions. Spiritual freedom is not freedom to sin, nor slavery to the law, you have to be able to feel it.

Hebr. 10:26
(26): If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left

Our deeds spring from the faith. How closer to God, the less sin. being in the presence of God do not commit sins. It is not to say that we never sins in our life no commit an error. There is a theory that the newborn can never go away from God and be condemned. it is not true theory, we can choose God or Satan. The fight is about our decision. battle is about our mind. About our choice. what we choose.

1 Jan. 3:9
(9): No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

This text talks about life without sin, It is not says that beliver never commit no sin, in the same letter John wrote

1 Jan. 2:1
(1): My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-- Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

1 Kor. 6:12
(12): "Everything is permissible for me"-- but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"-- but I will not be mastered by anything.

Your mind must distinguish between what is useful and what does not bondage of, what is good and what is bad.

2 Kor. 3:17
(17): Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Gal. 5:13
(13): You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
